Performance Analysis of Routing protocols in MANET for Fault Tolerant Data Communication
AOMDV, ECDSA, Fault tolerance, MANETS, MDART and Security.
Draft Pending
In order to address the fault tolerance need of MANETs, the data link and Network layer protocols need to be designed. More over with regards to security, the central issue becomes that of authentication. The environment in which MANENTs operate is hostile, so to deploy PKI with single certificate authority creates a single point of failure where the adversaries have to seek for a way to compromise the CA. Thus the use of distributed CA’s is apparently evident. As the MANETs grow in size the distributed CA’s presents the challenge of service availability. Thus to make it more available and secure, the distributed PKI needs to localized.
The study documented in this paper has assessed both the routing protocols that best suite the fault tolerance and the appropriate authentication scheme and accordingly makes a careful evaluation of the candidate protocols and authentication schemes. The study has proposed that multipath protocols are better in terms of fault tolerance and more particularly has chosen that AOMDV and MDART to alternatively fit in the framework based on network size.
