Experimental Study on Methane Dissolved by Surfactant—Alkane System

The surfactant-polyalkane system is studied by chemical reagents to dissolve methane and control coal seam gas from the perspective of low-energy, high-efficiency, safety, and environmental protection. Under different temperatures and pressures, the high temperature and high pressure reactor, gas chromatograph and other related experimental equipment were used to carry out methane dissolution experiments, and the single surfactant NaOA and n-hexane were better. The single factor experiments of temperature, pressure and NaOA addition were studied and fitted by response surface analysis. The optimal conditions for methane solubility were: temperature 34°C, pressure 4.5 MPa, NaOA addition 85 g/L, time 1 h. The best effect of surfactant-polyoxane system in dissolving methane is 32.31mL/100mL. At the same time, the change of surface structure of the coal before and after washing with the surfactant-polycarbonate system was compared by scanning electron microscopy, indicating that the gas after washing was dissolved in the surfactant-polyalkylene system, and the surface pore structure of the coal changed. The specific surface area and pore volume of the coal before and after washing were determined by the specific surface area and pore size analyzer. It was found that, the specific surface area and pore size of the surface of the coal after washing increased, which made it easy for the gas to be desorbed from the coal surface to dissolve into the system and reduce the gas content in the coal sample.
