Methane explosions are major disasters in coal mining, and they typically causes a large number of deaths, injuries and property losses. Appropriate understandings of the effects of flammable gases on the characteristics of methane explosion are essential to prevent and control methane explosions. Therefore, numerical simulations of methane explosions with different additions of flammable gases, such as C2H4, C2H6, H2 and CO, at different temperatures (25℃, 60℃, 100℃, 140℃, 180℃) were conducted using FLACS software. The results obtained demonstrate that at constant volume and room temperature, the maximum explosion temperature increases as the initial temperature increases, whereas the maximum explosion pressure decreases. Under oxygen-rich conditions, as the volume fraction of other flammable gases increases, the maximum explosion temperature and maximum explosion pressure increase. Under low oxygen conditions, the opposite variation trend is observed.
