Numerical analysis and field industrial verification test on hydrostatic test platform for waterproof refuge chamber

A hydraulic test platform for waterproof refuge chamber was designed and its water tightness and water pressure resistance were verified. The ANSYS simulation software and finite element method were used to simulate its stress and deformation. The maximum deformation occurs at the vertex of the elliptical head with a value of 3.732mm. The conical shell part presents a uniform deformation transition, and special treatment should be carried out on the transition section between the large diameter elliptical head and the smaller cylinder. The stress difference between the inner and outer walls of the cylinder is rather large, and it should belong to the stress discontinuity area. The maximum stress value of the numerical simulation is 248.5MPa at the position of manhole set up in elliptical head, which exceeds the limit of allowable stress and should be reinforced in design. It can be obtained that after the test, there was not obvious water leakage and large deformation in external and internal hydraulic platform when the water pressure was 4.5MPa. There was no water penetrated outside the platform and no crack found on the outer wall and the inner wall of hydraulic test platform. It can be concluded that the hydraulic test platform for refuge chamber has a good pressure-bearing and water tight performance.
