Application of the technology for co-disposal of waste rock and tailings in a tailing pool

Aim at saving land resources and reducing project investment cost,the technology for co-disposal of waste rock and tailings was applied to a tailing pool in its design process, and the tailings dam was formed accompany with waste rock stockpiling with maximum elevation of 182m and width of 496m . This engineering layout is very rare at home and abroad,and the seepage and stability of tailings dam are the key factors of the project.This paper mainly introduced the technology for co-disposal of waste rock and tailings,researched the three-dimensional seepage and dam stability in the running of the tailing pool.The study results show that the tailings dam has characteristics of low infiltration line and well stability. The results can provide reference for similar engineering research and design.
