Numerical evaluation on dynamic response and structural security for two different coal mine rescue capsules under gas explosion load using Arbitrary Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) algorithm

Coal mine rescue capsule are indispensable equipment for rescue safety production and effective rescue, the efficiency of safety rescue is determined by its stability and efficiency and antiknock performance. In this paper, two different rescue capsules were designed, in order to ensure the stability of the capsule under gas explosion load, firstly, the load of explosion field was simulated by using ANSYS/LS DYNA and validated with former reported data. Secondly, the coupling effect between the flow field of explosion shock wave and rescue capsule was revealed with ALE fluid-structure coupling algorithm in real conditions. Thirdly, the antiknock performance analysis and structural design optimization were conducted on the original model. At last, the dynamic response, strength and energy variation were compared quantitative for the original model and the optimization model qualitatively and quantitatively. Results show that the antiknock performance of the optimized one satisfies the requirements of national standards.
