The mud-tailing pond of the bauxite in western Guangxi is affected by the karst topography. During the earthquake, the storage tailings mud can easily leak down through the bottom karst passage. In order to explore the characteristics of seismic response of tailings dams, ADINA was used to establish a numerical analysis model for the dynamic response of the Mud-Tailing Pond by considering dam-tailing mud coupling effect. The simulation results show that the maximum stress, acceleration, displacement and other dynamic responses of the dam body are significantly increased after the tailings slurry moisture content exceeds 120%. Before the height of 1/2 dam height, the maximum stress, acceleration and displacement of the dam body are not significantly different. After the height of the dam is 3/4 dam height, the dynamic response of the dam body is particularly obvious.
