—Vehicular Ad Hic Networks (VANETs) are crucial
to support the current development of Intelligent Transport
System (ITS). Communication is essential to increase the enhance
the capabilities of individual vehicles and to make them all
an intelligent and integrated system. As a consequence, in this
scenario, it is always necessary to acquire knowledge about the
context. In a VANET, where usually no infrastructure exists, some
protocol are needed to guarantee a certain level of reliability of
the information collected from individual vehicles.
In this paper a new approach is proposed to achieve a
distributed, reliable and secure consensus over the surrounding
context . In particular, our proposal is designed as an integrated
protocol stack Chord operates as a Network Layer, and the
application of Consensus Sensing is based on Blockchain’s
principles. The performance of the proposed protocol has been
verified with simulations, evaluating remarkable gains both in
terms of latency, overhead and scalability
