An External Vth-Compensation Scheme for Narrow Bezel Gate Driver Circuit

In this paper, we proposed a novel n-type shift register with six TFTs and one capacitor (6T1C) to achieve a slim border design(the total layout width of the integrated gate driver on array (GOA) circuit is about 800 um). Meanwhile, we solved the failure problem of the GOA due to Vth shift by external compensation, and verified the effect of external compensation through experiments. It is found that this method could not only improve the reliability of the circuit, but also enable the GOA circuit to output an ultra-wide pulse waveform. This GOA was used in the 31 inch indium gallium zinc oxide(IGZO) TFT - AMOLED panel display of CSOT.
