Design of 1.6-2.4 GHz Low Noise Amplifier Based on SiGe HBT

Abstract—In this paper, a low noise amplifier is designed based on the SiGe HBT,which can work in the frequency range of 1.6-2.4GHz. The RLC feedback technique is used to improve the frequency response of the circuit and achieve flatness of the gain in the whole frequency range. In order to enhance the stability of the circuit, an RC network is added to the collector port of the microwave transistor. The simulation results show that the noise figure of the amplifier is less than 1.5dB and the stability is well, the power gain is between 18 dB and 19dB, the gain flatness is less than 1dB, the input and output reflection coefficients are all less than -10dB.The test results show that the trend of the curve is consistent with the simulation results in the working frequency range. The reflection coefficients of the input and output ports are less than -10 dB, noise figure less than 1.8 dB and the power gain of the amplifier is between 15 and 15.5 dB.
