Two charge balancing approaches, electrode shortening and pulse insertion, are combined to one system and applied to a spinal cord stimulator circuit which requires large stimulation current. Implemented in CSMC 0.25µm BCD process, this 16-channel, 15-V stimulator circuit features a 100% charge compensation at maximum 4mA biphasic stimulation current.
