We propose an asymmetric 1×2 wavelength division de-multiplexer(WDDM) based on directional coupling in slot waveguides. The transmission characteristics are studied by the finite difference time domain(FDTD). The calculation results show that for this wavelength de-multiplexer, the output port transmittance is greater than 93% with no structural optimization is required. We constructed an asymmetric 1×4 WDDM by combining three 1×2 WDDMs. Asymmetric structure makes the device structure more compact than symmetrical structure. The proposed WDDM is expected to be applied to high-density integrated optical path systems.
