The metasurface is an ultra-thin two-dimensional array planar that enables multi-functional and extraordinary electro-magnetic control, and thus shows great potential in many scientific and technical applications due to its excellent filtering characteristics when combined with filters. For most applications, the filter bandwidth is one of the most important performance metrics. In this paper, we demonstrate the design of a broadband terahertz band-stop filter based on metasurface. By using the principle of multi-layer superposition to broaden the filter bandwidth, the designed filter has a filter depth lower in the range of 373-502GHz, and reveals its broadband principle through the corresponding field distribution. Further study shows that the transmission characteristics of the filter in TE or TM mode are exactly the same, with polarization independence.
