An Experimental Study On 3d Detection Of Small Caliber Trenchless Nonmetallic Pipelines Based On Att

In order to effectively detect small caliber HDPE silicon core pipelines laid by horizontal directional drilling (HDD) technic, a self-recording instrument 26mm in diameter and 190mm in length is invented by using triaxial accelerometer and triaxial magnetometer to measure the component strength of gravity field and magnetic field at different points in pipeline. Then the attitude parameters such as pitch angles and magnetic azimuth of the instrument are calculated to reconstruct pipeline’s spatial curve by using 3D shape reconstruction algorithm. To decrease measuring errors of pitch angles and magnetic azimuth, numerical correction methods for orthogonality and coaxiality of sensor’s axes are analyzed. Finally, experimental results in worksite are presented to verify the validity and convenience of the detection method.
