The ever-expanding world of technology has spurred innovation, especially in the Networking field. Information technology is at the forefront of this advancement and it became more prominent when the internet was made public back in 1993. The internet provides communication and data sharing instantaneously to anyone around the world and thus the hunger for faster, better, and more efficient forms continue. The Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers came together and formed a group in 1998 called 802.16 to develop Wide Municipal Area Network (WMAN) standards in order to develop high-speed connections in the 10GHz to the 66GHz range.
