With the construction and application of several large-scale laser devices in China, a large number of international experimental results have been achieved in the field of inertial confinement fusion (ICF). This report mainly introduces the latest developments in ICF diagnostic technology, including time, space and energy spectrum technology.
In the current ICF research, the traditional X-ray frame camera (XFC) technology has about 70ps time resolution, which cannot meet the needs of the experiment. It is necessary to develop a 10ps higher time resolution technology. Drift tube technology has two development directions at present. One is drift tube technology using long magnetic focusing technology, the other is drift tube technology using short magnetic focusing technology. At present, we have made some progress in both directions.
The spatial resolution of existing Kirkpatrick-Baez (KB) type X-ray microscopes can only reach about 3m. However, higher spatial resolution is needed to study the details of the later compression stage of implosion target. In this report, a new type of microscopic design with KB configuration is proposed, which can improve the aperture resolution to 1m. At the same time, on the basis of existing technology, we also propose a method of data mosaic to improve spatial resolution technology.
The spectral resolution of traditional TIME-SPECTRUM resolution techniques is only about 300. This data is obviously insufficient for the study of specific atom-molecule-related and mixing-related experiments. A new conical bending technology is introduced here. This technique can maintain the high spectral resolution of planar crystals and the high efficiency of cylindrical crystals. It is possible to provide new technology for later experiments.
