The brightness and coherence of new generation X-ray source are remarkable improved as the development of Diffraction-limited synchrotron Radiation and X-ray Free Electron Laser. These rapid progresses, together with the application in scientific research, leads great challenges to X-ray optics, which focuses on transmitting and operating X-ray beams, and keeping their high quality with minimal impact. The X-ray compound refractive lenses (CRL) are one of the important optics, which can be widely used in high-resolution microscopy, high pressure XANES, and etc. In order to satisfy the coherence of the advanced X-ray source, more research had to be done on the lens material, the structure etc. Here we present a novel refractive index variable CRL, which can reduce the hardness of the lens machining, and improve the properties of optics.
