X-ray satellite line emission from targets irradiated by intense particle beams can be used to diagnose plasma conditions and beam properties. We present results from our analysis of spectroscopic measurements of x-ray KαLn satellites emitted from a target irradiated by an intense radiation field. In this experiment, performed on the Shenguang Ⅱ high power laser facility, a silicon-coated plastic sphere was irradiated with an intense radiation field from a laser-injected gold holhraum. The time-integrated spectrum was obtained with a resolution of λ/ ∆λ > 1000. It is shown that KαL1 and KαL2 have significantly high intensities in the measured spectrum compared to the Kα x-ray satellite spectrum generated by photo excitation with x-ray tube. KLn vacancy creation by multiple step inner-shell ionization mechanism is investigated to interpret the data.
