The temporal and spatial scale of Rayleigh-Taylor instability caused by power asymmetry and target microroughness of ICF is 1~102 ns and 10-3~102 µm. Meanwhile, maximum speed during target implosion process is approximately 3.5×107cm/s. It requests several picoseconds time of exposure to reach 1 µm motion-blurring. In order to diagnose the fluid mechanical instability of ICF, the test system should be qualified with temporal resolution of femtoseconds to picoseconds and spatial resolution of nanometers to microns. Existent high speed photography can not meet with these requests. New technologies are urged to break the bottleneck.
In this report a new imaging technology with super temporal-spatial resolution is introduced, which achieves temporal resolution of 5 ps and spatial resolution of 10 µm. This high speed photography is prospective to diagnose the target implosion process of ICF. The system is composed of a chirped laser pulse, a lenslet array and a dispersive device. Besides the high resolution, this technology allows for convenient adjustment of temporal resolution and obtains large number of frames. It is also capable for simultaneous recording of amplitude images and frequency domain interferograms.
