The magnetization characteristics of the ferromagnetic materials are critical to the performance of power equipment. To accurately depict the hysteresis property, in this paper, the original Jiles-Atherton hysteresis model is analyzed. To solve the problem that the differential magnetic permeability of the local hysteresis loop end is negative in the classical model,a new hysteresis model based on genetic algorithm parameter identification is proposed. The simulation results shows a good agreement with the practical local hysteresis loop characteristics.
