The solar photovoltaic generation and energy storage system are rapidly interconnecting to the distribution network. It has made the voltage rise problem in distribution lines due to the reverse current flows at the PCC(Point of Common Coupling) of DG. The penetration limits are imposed due to the overvoltage problems by these additional distributed generations. To solve the voltage problem and improve the acceptance of the distribution line to DG, a reactive power control method based on the current measurement was suggested in this study. Even if DGs are penetrated in distribution network, it can maintain voltage profile before the DG connection. A new reactive power control method was verified through various case studies using Matlab Simulink power system toolbox.
