Overheating of electrical equipment due to poor contact of bus bar or aging of the connector material may cause faults. Therefore, it is necessary to measure the temperature of contacts at various locations in electrical equipment. An online cycling temperature monitoring system for electrical equipment which uses infrared technology is proposed in this paper. The system uses a single-channel infrared sensor and two digital servos in the horizontal and vertical directions to realize the positioning and temperature measuring of the various contact locations inside the equipment. The cycling path is optimized by the Branch and Bound method in order to reduce traversal time, and the real-time performance of key location monitoring is improved by setting higher priority level. The system developed in this paper is experimentally verified, and the results show that the system can achieve high accuracy and efficiency.
