Small Signal Stability Analysis of Medium Voltage DC shore power system

Ships to dock at shore power supply can effectively reduce the air pollution and noise pollution brought by the ship power station power constantly, and decrease the cost, along with the increasing of ship power plant capacity, power voltage gradually developed from low to medium voltage. For typical medium voltage DC shore power system, the disturbance of grid or load will affect the stability of shore power system and even damage the electrical equipment of ship which affect security safe electricity utilization and even cause damage to electrical equipment of the ship. This paper investigates stability problems of medium voltage DC shore power system. To start with, the principle of medium voltage dc shore power system is studied. Then, small signal model is established through the system state equation of shore power system and stability analysis is done based on the model. Furthermore, time domain simulation is established to verify the results of stability analysis, following with small disturbances and observing the changes of each electric quantity in shore power system.
