A real-time reporting solution for LV power supply interruption

For real-time reporting of power supply interruption for LV users, there especially needs the availability of both back-up supply for communication module in smart meter and the communication channel. This paper studies a real-time reporting solution which modifies the communication module with super capacitor as back-up supply. Field tests of 30 LV distribution areas in Baoji Power Supply Branch verifies the proposed solution. The application prospect of the real-time power interruption reporting is further discussed, such as interruption diagnosis and fault analysis.
