A Method of Power Grid Frequency Gradient Aided Control Based on Rotational Inertia of Power Grid

Abstract—In the frequency control measures of power grid in our country, when the power grid suffers from large-scale load or power shortage, it is necessary to adopt frequency determination measures such as over-frequency generator-shedding or under-frequency load shedding, the response time is slow and the ability of the power system resilience is reduced. There is a lack of flexible control method for frequency gradient changing with time. Therefore, this paper proposes a frequency gradient control method based on grid inertia to form a frequency gradient early warning control matrix under different start-up modes. When the grid suffers from large-scale power shortage, it can quickly implement over-frequency generator-shedding or under-frequency load shedding measures to reduce frequency offset and improve the ability of the power system resilience.
