Abstract
Now, the modular multi-level converter high voltage direct current transmission(MMC-HVDC) is the most reliable solution for the long distance of the high voltage level transmission system. And the wind power is extensively used in the whole world, which is the most effective way to replace traditional power generation. In this paper, the advanced inertia response will be used to evaluate the stability of the MMC-HVDC system which connects with wind power. Then this method also can evaluate the transient characteristics of stability of the wind power and MMC-HVDC system. The simulation is divided into two parts: first, the simulation proceeds under normal conditions as the effective short circuit ratio(ESCR) increases. Second, the simulation has proceeded under the transient state which the AC side occurs the fault. This effectiveness of the scheme will be verified based on the simulation results of PSCAD/EMTDC.
