Abstract
To exploit the potential of flexibility from demands and distributed energy resources, this paper proposes an optimal bidding and operation strategy for a virtual power plant (VPP) with a coupled electricity-heat supply system including thermoelectric coupling equipment. The objective is to minimize the VPP’s operation cost while balancing the heat and power demand. A scenario-based risk-constrained day-ahead stochastic optimization model is proposed, which considers the renewable power output uncertainty and the risk of operation cost. Furthermore, the real-time optimal operation of the VPP is also considered in the proposed model. Effectiveness of the proposed strategy is demonstrated by simulation results.
