The pathogenesis of autism spectrum disorders is complicated, and so far, the exact etiology and pathogenesis remain unclearly. Major advances in spatial information technology have led researchers to recognize the potential of spatial information technology as an effective tool in research into and treatment of children with autism. However, there are too many fragmented research topics. According to recent research reports on spatial information technology, in China, there is no precedent for the application of spatial information technology in autism. This article reviews the progress in the study of these aspects: summary, the approach and analytical steps of spatial information technology, and probes into the existing problems, as well as the future trends of the research. It is hope that the review achievement can provide reference proposals for attention application of spatial information technology in autism of our country.
