Analysis of the coupled thermoelastic vibration for the axially-motion beam

Based on the theory of Euler-Bernouli beam and the successive solution of the equations for the mechanical vibrations of the beam and heat transfer, considering the interaction between the material deformation and heat conduction, the coupled governing equations of the axially-motion beam were deduced. The excitation load of the vibration equation (temperature function and external excitation force) was fitted by a quadratic polynomial of time and the displacement solution was obtained by Galerkin method, then the heat conduction equation was solved by using the numerical method for iteration convergence in every small time. Under the coupling effect of temperature and displacement field, the transverse vibration characteristic of the beam with axial speed was studied. Beams subjected to short heat flux and mechanical harmonic loading were investigated, and the influence of axial speed on the amplitude and temperature variation of the beam was discussed, too.
