A microstructure-dependent magneto-electro-elastic Timoshenko beam model incorporating elastic foundation effect
Abstract Accepted
A new model for a Magneto-Electro-Elastic Timoshenko beam developed by using an extended modified couple stress theory. The equations of motion and the boundary conditions are simultaneously obtained through a variational formulation based on the Hamilton’s principle. The new high-order Magneto-Electro-Elastic beam model includes the Piezoelectirc/Piezomagnetic Timoshenko beam model incorporating the microstructure effect and the elasticity-based isotropic microstructure-dependent Timoshenko beam model as special cases. To illustrate the new model, the static bending and free vibration problems of a simply supported beam are analytically solved by directly applying the formulas derived.
