The skin epidermis performs a significant role in barrier function to protect body from outside environment. With tissue engineering(TE) developing, many biomaterials are used to form skin substitution with dermis and epidermis structure. These kinds of natural materials like collagen, fibrinogen, etc. mimic the skin dermis extracellular matrix to provide the environment for cells to adhesion and proliferation but open suffer from uncontrollable mechanical properties. Additionally, the fibroblasts and keratinocytes special performance with different stiffness materials has a distinct difference.
In this study, we designed a mutillayer skin structure and printed it with gelatin methacrylamide (GelMA) in different concentration, to fabrication a suitable environment for skin epidermis structure formation.
