Dispersion characteristics and finishing mechanism of modified silicon composites reinforced with micro-SiC particles

The dispersion characteristics of SiC particles in acid medium were investigated by sedimentation method. On this basis of this characteristic, the modified and reinforced silica gel composites were made and their contact mechanics and tribological properties were investigated. The experimental results show that the prepared silica gel composites have good contact mechanics and tribological properties when the SiC particles were in a certain range content, which is closely related to the homogeneity and dispersion, the self-repairing properties of the particles and the matrix properties in the liquid silica gel.
