Safety Evaluation of Existing Subway Tunnels Near a Large Excavation of Basement
Draft Pending
吴月秀 / 武汉大学
A large basement excavation near a river with a size of 70m (length)×62.3m(width)×10m(depth) was constructed which is also adjacent to two existing subway tunnels. After the stress relief of basement excavation, the stresses in the tunnel was expected to change and displacements would result. Therefore, a safety assessment of tunnels should be performed. Using 3D FEM calculation, the construction process of basement was simulated and the effect of basement excavation on existing tunnels were analyzed. It was concluded that there are some effects obvious at the roof and the floor of the tunnel but the relevant values were relatively small and could be accepted.
