The Bogdanka mine, wanting to remain a leader in terms of production and cost-effectiveness, introduces several technical and organizational solutions. Recently, due to the preparations for the exploitation of the new seams, a decision was made to extend the longwall length to over 7 km and the length of the walls from the standard 300 m to 400 m. Changes in the geometric parameters of the longwall panels  resulted in the application of new technical, organizational and technological solutions to optimize the extraction costs. The paper presents examples of the applied solutions along with the impact on the volume of extraction and cost effectiveness.
