Mining rescue during the transformation of hard coal mining, directions of changes

The paper presents organizational and technical changes that have occurred in the mine rescue of entrepreneurs and mine rescue units over the last 10 years, as well as the forecasted changes in the organization of mine rescue services, resulting from the planned transformation process of the hard coal mining industry in Poland in the period until 2049.

Based on the current provisions of the Geological and Mining Law and the ordinance of the Minister of Energy on mine rescue, mining rescue tasks for mining entrepreneurs and Central Mines Rescue Station (entity professionally engaged in mine rescue, securing all underground hard coal mining plants and salt mine and bored tunnels and tourist routes) have been discussed.

The course of rescue operations conducted over the last decade was analyzed, both in terms of the number of rescue teams taking part in them, as well as in terms of the type of threat and its size.

An attempt was made to define the possible directions of organizational and technical changes in mining rescue services, both for mining entrepreneurs and mining rescue units, taking into account the potential organizational and economic effects of these activities.
