The paper presents issues related to the proper selection of personal protective equipment and equipment for employees of mines and plants of Polish Mining Group S.A. (PGG S.A.) The author of the article raises issues related to the requirements that the employer – Polish Mining Group S.A. (PGG S.A.) puts in front of personal protective equipment and employee equipment.

Polish Mining Group S.A. (PGG S.A.) is almost 40,000 employees who should be equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment. In the mining industry, the requirements for personal protective equipment and workwear are complex, because on the one hand, the employer specifies the requirements for these measures to ensure a high level of safety, and on the other hand, employees expect high comfort and work culture from them.

In Polish Mining Group S.A. (PGG S.A.) issues related to personal protective equipment have been formalized through the development and implementation of a descriptive and drawing catalog of personal protective equipment, which is a continuation of the catalog developed by Kompania Węglowa S.A., the first edition of which was created in 2004. The material scope of the catalog and the content of product descriptions The employer consults with the social side, which is represented by the Company Social Labor Inspectors. This catalog is a guide to guidelines that should be met by personal protective equipment and employee equipment. The catalog is intended for suppliers as well as for mine services ordering personal protective equipment and employee equipment in the Polish Mining Group S.A. (PGG S.A.). The mentioned catalog was introduced by the Resolution of the Management Board of Polish Mining Group S.A. (PGG S.A.).

The article also describes the experiences of Polish Mining Group S.A. (PGG S.A.) in the field of conducting operational tests of filtering respirators in real conditions of mines, carried out by units authorized for this type of research.
