Status and prospects of fully mechanized mining technology in Vietnamese coal mines

Fully mechanized mining technology has been applied in Vietnamese coal mines for more than 15 years. This paper analyzes the achievement and the exists of applying the mechanized supports into the underground mining by the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Ltd. (VINACOMIN) during 15 year period, and proposes the recommendations for developing mechanized equipment in order to improve the coal production, productivity, effectiveness and environment management for the sustainable development of Vietnam underground mining.
