Ethical behavior and practice play key role in extraction of minerals. It's rightly said every mine operator has to take social license. Ethics in minor minerals have many dimensions. The minor minerals are by majority, barring a few, are operated by small mine operators who are in unorganised sector. On the pretext of being small scale operation, low profit , low production, the mine operators show unwillingness to comply with any law of land specially laws related to labour. Instead of compliance they prefer to manage. It's only through Governments enforcement, regulation and strict action for  violation, they pay lawful wages but look for opportunity to skip payment of perks. Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance ( IRMA) has specified standards for Ethical Behavior of Mine Operators.
