CVD (chemical vapor deposition) is a chemical process used to produce high-purity, high-performance solid materials. We have performed a series of research work in the fields of non-noble metal electrocatalysis, and have made a series of research progress in controllable preparation and catalytic conversion of non-noble metal electrocatalysts with CVD.
We have developed a strategy for synthesis transition metal nanoporous thin films at low-temperature. The functional nanoporous thin films were constructed to realize the controllable synthesis and catalytic performance was optimizated; we have explored several methods to grow transition metal carbides nanocrystals with atomic hydrogen treatment. The strategy of the growth mechanism was revealed, and the low-temperature controllable synthesis of nanocrystalline carbides was realized. The catalytic activity and stability were improved by optimizing the surface and electronic structures of active sites. A series of carbon-based nanocomposites can be used as non-metallic hydrogen evolution catalysts instead of platinum were obtained by regulating the surface structure of non-metallic catalytic materials with hot filament-CVD, which lays a foundation for the application of inorganic materials.
