In this paper, we propose a focusing-based near-field source localization method for two closely located sources in coherent scenarios. The focusing technique is able to transform the near-field signal model into a far-field-like one. Therefore, we can apply spatial smoothing pre-processing (SSP) technique and multiple signal classification (MUSIC) to decorrelate coherent signals and estimate the direction of arrival (DOA) of each source. The ranges are jointly estimated by using the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) approach with the estimated DOAs. Simulations are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
