In this study, in order to solve the problem of large fabrication pattern in additive manufacturing by cold spray (CSAM), we tried to perform thin fabrication with a width of 2mm by fixing the mask to the gun nozzle.
First, the effects of the position and shape of the mask on the collision behavior of gas jets and particles were analyzed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. In addition, the effect of the angle of the mask was examined to prevent particle deposition on the mask.
Based on these CFD results, a molding experiment was actually performed using copper particles by cold spraying.
If the prevention of particle deposition on the mask surface can be prevented by changing the material of the nozzle, etc., it is suggested that the simultaneous movement type mask fixed to the gun nozzle could be thinned by CSAM.
