Abstract
The pulse transformer is usually used in a high -power pulse generator, and its property and reliability are critical indexes to a pulse generator. In this paper, a pulse transformer was analyzed based on the electromagnetic field simulation software and circuit simulation software . By customizing the high-performance magnetic core and using the new winding method, the output power and insulation of the pulse transformer are improved. The electromagnetic field distribution of the pulse transformer with improved windings is simulated in the electromagnetic field simulation software. Various characteristic parameters are shown of the pulse transformer, including the electrostatic field, eddy current field, and the working state of the transient field. Compared with the classic winding method, the simulation results show that the pulse transformer with improved windings has a better improvement in safety and parasitic parameters, and it has a better performance in the rising/falling edge and flat-top of a pulse.
