Abstract
A new experiment platform has been constructed to study the ionization with a rotating magnetic field, which is 2 meters in length and 35 cm in diameter. Two sets of antennas with a diameter of 40cm are fed separately by two pulsed power units based on thyratron. The maximum discharge voltage exceeds 40 kV with current 20kA, and the frequency is 83 kHz. Adjust the phase difference of the two power supply currents by 90 degrees to form a rotating magnetic field. The background magnetic field at the central axis of the vacuum chamber is 500G, corresponding to current of 400 A. Total capacitive stored energy is 30 kJ. A set of gas-puffing injecting system have been designed and installed. In this work, We will mainly describe our rotating magnetic field experimental platform in detail.
