Abstract
An optimized high-voltage pulse trigger for TDI-type hydrogen thyratrons has been designed and implemented in this paper. In the optimized trigger, a lithium battery is used as the power supply, and a wireless charging module is used to isolate the trigger from the mains. The trigger also contains a heating circuit and a high-voltage pulse generating circuit. A half-bridge module is employed in the heating circuit and its output voltage ranges from 0 to 12V. The open-circuit output voltage of the pulse generating circuit is up to 10kV with a rise time less than 300ns. The optimized trigger works in a floating state, which eliminates the interference from the mains, cancels the isolation transformers, and improves the space utilization. Details of the optimized trigger are presented in this paper. Experimental test is also carried out, and the validity and reliability of the optimized trigger are verified.
