Abstract
Hydrodynamic responses are key concerns in the development of the deep-sea aquaculture net cage. To investigate influences of the bottom counterweight and cable distribution on the hydrodynamic responses of the gravity net cage, one cylindrical gravity net cage with different cable distributions and different counterweights are modelled by using commercial software ProteusDS. The floating collar is simplified as one hollow ring that has the same physical properties as the real double-row floating pipes. This net cage suffers different ocean statues which the current speed change from 0 to 0.4m/s and the direction change within 45°. Additionally, ocean waves are considered in analyzing the influence of cable distributions. The influence of net on the flow velocity is considered here based on self-shielding mode. Finally, the influences of bottom counterweight and cable distribution on the cable tensions, volume loss of net cage, movement and deformation of floating collar are revealed with different ocean statues. The analysis results are valuable reference to the research and design of gravity net cage in deep-water.
