Abstract
Round inductosyn has been widely used in harsh industrial applications because of its strong adaptability to extreme environments such as temperature, vibration and pollution. The traditional round inductosyn measuring method was not sufficient for getting the continuous absolute angel under severe vibration and temperature changes. A new fusion algorithm based on a resolver-to-digital converter (RDC) hardware circuit for round inductosyn measuring system is presented to adapt the condition. In hardware, the circuit improve the measurement accuracy and the adaptability to high frequency vibration. In software, a fusion algorithm based on quadrant comparison and adjustment was presented. This method solves the trip point of the absolute angle caused by the zero deviation in coarse and fine channel, and can be easily applied to any round inductosyn with integer channel number. Also, it is easily to implement by a field programming gate array (FPGA) with lower resource occupancy rate. This round inductosyn measuring system can adapt to the variation of coarse data caused by the vibration or temperature changes in harsh industrial applications, especially for small angle measurements. Experiment results show that the round inductosyn measuring system is correct and highly reliable, which can still obtain accurate absolute angle under strong interference.
