上层海洋涡旋垂向热输运的随机性

Abstract
涡旋是海洋中最显著的运动形式,对于海洋上层热量的垂向输运有着显著的贡献,涡旋引起的垂向热输运(EVHT)通过改变海面温度和海洋上层热力结构,对化学、生态和气候过程产生重要影响,有效调控着海洋的储碳过程(Gaube等,2015;Su等,2018;Jing等,2020;Rohr等2020;Siegelman等,2020)。现有基于观测的研究中,利用锚系浮标数据和绝热位密守恒方程计算EVHT是最普遍的方法(Yu等,2019;Zhang等,2021)。然而,除了绝热假设的有效性仍待探讨之外,潜标观测在时间跨度和空间范围上的局限性也让其观测的EVHT能在多大程度上表征其气候平均态尚不明确。为了解决这一问题,本研究利用黑潮延伸体水平分辨率为1公里的区域海洋模式,系统评估了EVHT空间分布的随机性。研究发现,单一位置处EVHT具有很强的随机性。在我们的研究区域中,超过85%的位置会出现年平均EVHT在峰值深度的标准差大于气候平均态的特征。上述研究结果表明,至少在黑潮延伸体区域,由于涡旋场强烈的随机性,当前的锚系浮标观测系统无法有效评估海洋上层EVHT的气候态特征。
