In this work, the non-ordinary state-based peridynamics formulation for fracture of thermomechenical problems has been utilized and adopted to analyze the high speed impact response of metal targets. A frictionless penalty based contact model is used to realized the contact constrain between the impactor and the target. Artificial viscosity is used for stabilization which prevent nonphysical oscillation and inter-penetration of the material points. The numerical results are compared with experimental data to evaluate the effectiveness of the present method.
