Abstract
Relying on the technological breakthrough of miniature pressure sensing, an emerging technology of fluidized bed thermogravimetric analyzer (FB-TGA) was developed with the major particularity of integrating the precise measurement of TGA with excellent diffusion conditions provided by fluidized bed [25-27]. The real-time weight measurement under fluidization states is actualized by FB-TGA, which provides a highly controlled and homogenous reaction environment for characterizing thermal behaviors of solid sample, opening a new chapter in the investigation of oxygen carrier (OC) redox kinetics and OC cycle performance. This paper reviews the measurement mechanism, structure development and operation modification of FB-TGA in an effort to offer an in-depth insight into fundamental characteristics of FB-TGA and contribute to the ongoing development of thermal analysis techniques. Meanwhile, the recent research findings of Chemical Looping Combustion obtained from FB-TGA are summarized with expect to serving as a valuable resource for the relevant field research.
