Bearingless induction motor(BIM) is a kind of motor which combines the advantages of magnetic bearing and the excellent performance of traditional induction motor. In order to control the multi-variable coupling rotor suspension control system of BIM more quickly and reliably, it is necessary to study several control strategies of BIM suspension system. In this paper, a fractional order PID controller is designed for the suspension control system of BIM to restrain the rotor centroid deviation from the given position during the operation of BIM, and achieve better rotor suspension control effect. Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed control strategy is correct and effective, and can improve the efficient and rapid suppression of vibration caused by rotor mass imbalance, and achieve the purpose of improving the performance of bearingless induction motor suspension control system.
